This is the first video I've put together in quite a while. I upgraded my operating system to Maverick & the new iMovie program has quite the learning curve but I think I finally have it figured out! Hope y'all enjoy the video!

Another nice video JP. You must have some good eyesight picking queens out in a moving mass like that, my eyes aren't what they used to be and these transition glasses don't help.
What did you end up doing with any brood comb in the tire? Were you able to salvage anything there besides the bees themselves?

Perry, I tried cutting the tire open to no avail, sucker was over an inch thick, maybe 2" & steel belted of course

I was not able to utilize any of the comb on this one but alas we were able to save the colony

I tried cutting the tire with this humongous grinder that I have & even the sawzall but the tire just laughed at my attempts

WOOT JP Video!!!

I did one in a tire, but it was a combine tire the size of the one behind you in the vid. Unfortunately it was still on what was left of a rim.
I used a concrete saw with a metal blade, the type used in a chop saw. Had to cut JUST through the cords and rib band without cutting clear through the tire so I didn't fill the tire with rubber smoke, then used a razor knife to finish cutting the rubber.. what a mess that was. I am always envious, you make it look so easy.

just a chainsaw motor type thing with 800 lbs of cutter on the front of it.. Old and fat plus 94 degrees meant I took a lot of breaks.
