Time to requeen, if it has a queen.

I'm home but gonna hit the hay shortly. Only had about 30 emails and a half dozen calls to deal with first.
Iddee was getting crowded, trying to pull some frames for a couple nucs when BAM, he took one in the end of his...............................tongue!
He had a frame of bees in his hands and couldn't scrape the stinger out. It took him about 2 minutes before he could square the hive away and another minute to find and scrape the stinger off, so it was pretty much the full load.
He started to talk funny after about 5 minutes. He said it was one of the most painful stings he could remember in a long while.
Of course no one laughed at all. ;)

Got my first sting of the season today. Was approaching the hive from the front and walked right into the busy flyway. I've done it many times but was confident "my girls" wouldn't hurt me. Well one of them slammed right into head and got wedged under the earpiece of my glasses. Naturally she freaked and stung. I couldn't get the stinger out so it was a pretty good wollop. Now I've got a swollen bruise on my temple, but my achy joints are much improved. :)

Lazy,

few years ago when we were building this house on a warm summer day, Sweet Wife was making sammiches for the crew and complaining loudly about all of the yellow jackets swarming around her. Said " Neill you've got to do something about these yellow jackets!" To which I replied some dumb macho reply like " They don't want to eat much-where's my sammich!" Well she brings me out a sammich and I take a big hearty bite and it immediately starts buzzing and sting my inner cheek. When I spit it out there was a very alive and very perturbed yellow jacket on the ground along with my spit out food. Face swelled up like a toad frog!

Served me right  I guess. :D
