Beekeeping and Mount Everest
« on: June 26, 2014, 08:16:14 pm »
I just learned today that Sir Edmund Hillary was a beekeeper (besides being the first to climb Mount Everest).  This seasonal work allowed him to climb mountains and explore in the off season.

This may be a widely know fact, but I just learned it today (while watching Pawn Stars), so I thought I'd share.

I saw a cable show not too long ago about Hillary and learned that.  Pretty neat!

I have heard that also going back to the 1980's had a guy join the bee club that was from New Zealand and kept or worked bees in Australia. I don't Remember if he kept bees in New Zealand but he gave a nice presentation on beekeeping in the 2 country's.
