A fancy thermometer?  Or do we have 76 minutes left before the bomb goes off?   ;D
For checking the temp in the cluster? Or making Candy board?

A warming cabinet/closet I bet. One that you can set a half dozen supers in to keep warm before extracting, and then place buckets of granulated honey in to re-liquify.
Be sure to write down your plans as this is something I need as well.

I'm with Perry a honey warming cabinet. I have been preaching about how much easier it is to extract if the honey is warm. a state is an improvement over just a bulb in that if the temp gets to high the comb can collapse. A thermostat will prevent this. But as a rule of thumb a 60 watt 24 hours before extracting will warm a stack of supers and not have them get to warm and collapse. But remember the longer they are exposed to the heat of the 60 watt the more heat will build up in the frames of honey.
Where did you find the unit and what did it cost? can it handle the wattage you need or do you need to us it to control a relay or magnetic switch? Need some Magnetic switches I could send you a few. Rated at 10 amp.
Do tell and reveal your plan.

Papa, I hope you are busy building, so you can show us both step by step, and final project results, and not just deliberately keeping us in suspense...  :-\  :'(

It was all a ruse...

The temp control is for the fuel line of his plane and the the light bulbs are for his bathroom vanity.

Not a ruse.  Just got busy Actually using the thing I built.
I promise, next week I'll get back to this thread.
Right now, however, I'm off to climb Mount Washington.

Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail and then Crowford Path to the Summit.

Weather looks perfect.  But, of course that can change in an instant.

So that's about a 4.5-ish mile hike?  How long do you plan on it taking each way?  (Sorry for taking this thread off-topic)

Used to be able to see Mt. Washington on clear days from our house. Too far away to see from Iowa.

No problem.  We are planned ng 4 up and 3 down. My down will be significantly faster because I'm hoping my son comes up and give me a ride back down the mountain in his car

The weekend didn't go exactly as planned.  One person in our party(No, not me) had a very tough time of it.  We made it up, but by the time we got up there it was too late to start down.  Three of our party hitched a ride with my son.  Paula and I hopped on the Cog Railway and then hoofed 3/4 of a mile to the truck from the railway station.
