Well, I got the old girl back a couple days ago.  8)
A few things to note:

# 1 - she runs great, what a treat!
# 2 - I never knew the oil pressure gauge went that high, and wasn't supposed to flutter up and down!
# 3 - it cost a bit more, I had the master cylinder (brakes) replaced along with a few brake lines and both rear wheel cylinders. Just about kissed the windshield the first time I touched the brakes.
# 4 - they had to replace the y pipe (exhaust), tailpipe, transmission mount, change the oil, new coolant, etc.
# 5 - final bill a shade over $1400.

I figure that I can keep her on the road for another 5 years I hope. Here in Nova Scotia we have vehicle inspections every 2 years. I still have a year to go before the truck has to have one, but I'm positive she'll pass with flying colours.

I'm happy.

All beekeeper travel for the next 6 months should be to the south.
Travelling south Iddee?  How about a swing across the "pond" to Southern Israel?  I should be able to find you some good parking spots.

Perry---You feel good?  I feel great--- for you!  I think you'll find five years is just a starter with your "new", upgraded Betsy.
Wind up windows----how I envy you.

Thanks Ef. It doesn't take much to make me happy! :D

LazyBkpr - no, that wasn't a rebuild. It was a Targetmaster 305 that had 70,000 kilometers (45,000 miles)on it. $750 installed.

Old trucks are the best. Mine will turn 40 next year.  Bought another 75 and swiped the engine from it to get rebuilt for mine, transmission has been rebuilt, bodywork this winter at least enough to beat the rust back

Dang Perry i wish you were closer..  We often have to pay people to take 305's away from our property. It is good to hear Betsy is back near the top of her game again. I am also betting 5 years is asking too little. Fix her when needed and you have a good truck for a long time.
