We haven't really decided what to call her. Sometimes the owners have pet names for some of their dogs, we'll see if she has one of those she recognizes. If not we'll make one up, it's not like they listen to the track announcers as they yell out their names.
The good kennels have a close attachment to their dogs, going so far as to give them personalized names, keeping resident cats, etc. there, so that the transition to adoption agencies is made easier.
GPAC, the agency up here, has developed a close relationship to several of the owners/ kennels at the tracks in order to establish an easier process to saving the dogs.
I have to be upfront and honest here, these dogs are the perfect breed for the laziest of the laziest owner. They are not an endurance dog, 3 or 4 15 minute walks a day is all they need, more is only a bonus. They are used to hellbent for 30+ seconds and that's it! They are the easiest dog to look after, they barely shed and they do not bark. We had to absolutely goad Rosie into getting her to roo.
