Free flower seeds
« on: March 17, 2015, 09:31:47 pm »
Picked this up from another forum I go to.

http://www.agprofessional.com/news/bayer-cropscience-launches-%E2%80%9Cfeed-bee%E2%80%9D-initiative

Bayer CropScience is launching "Feed a Bee", a major initiative to increase forage for honey bees and other pollinators, including growing 50 million flowers and providing additional forage acreage in 2015.

Feed A Bee - Let’s grow 50 million flowers and increase forage areas to ensure bees have access to the food they need. Each seed packet of 200 seeds gets us just a little closer.
“Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”

interesting that it's coming from Bayer. I wonder if they are non-GMO seeds? Kind of doubt it. I'm pretty negative when I see that company name when it comes to bees.

I received an email from Bayer crop science a couple of days ago.  They claim they were overwhelmed with the response and more seeds would be shipped out when they became available.

I received a packet of Pollinator Wildflower Mix today from FeedaBee.com aka Bayer.  I guess I will wait to spread them this fall.

I got exactly the same thing in the mail Saturday, I was hoping it would be a lot more seeds than this, says cover 10sq ft, maybe. I was a little disappointed  .

I responded for our Club and got a box of seed packets three days ago.  About 1.6 packets per member. Won't grow many flowers but its a gesture......  It can't be all bad, there must be some good behind Bayer.  :-)
