Meetin Iddee
« on: June 06, 2015, 08:40:22 am »

Td and I arrived in NC last night... after a brief sojurn into the hills of Virginia, when the Garmin decided thats where we needed to go...    Naturally, we were paying attention and not talking, so we noticed something wrong almost immediately, or an hours drive the wrong direction.......  Finally met up, and went to Iddee's sons house for an exemplary meal fit for a king...    Great conversation, and a beer or two... ok, so I had three...
Looking forward to the next couple of days!  Oh, and Ted is waving Hi...   but hes a little nervous..  he asked Iddee how long he had been in SOUTH Carolina, and Iddee pointed out the SHOVEL and plenty of open ground to make holes for bodies......

Other than that.. so far so good...      ;D

So it seems Iddee has pulled out all the stops to make us feel at home. Another amazing day, going through hives and looking at Waynes bees and meeting Kieth from Bees Needz. Got a great tour of his new facility and I must say I am a bit envious. He is getting things set up quite well.
We then went fishing and found out Iddee drives a boat just as fast as he drives his truck.  I caught a huge bass, and was VERY slightly overshadowed by the catch made by Iddee's son a little later..
Great conversation and a very enjoyable time.. pictures were taken today, I will post them when I get them transferred to my computer, more will be taken tomorrow, and there will be updates to be made.
In short, and in closing for todays update, Iddee is just as ornery in person as he is on the forum, the only obvious difference is that he doesnt slow down..  As he may complain about his age on here, he doesnt show it in person.  TTYL!

I got within an hour of Iddees place at one time when I flew into Charlotte going from Charleston SC back to Kansas after I got into a bad deal putting theater seats in for a shady character.  It all happened so fast we didn't have time to make plans to get together.  But someday soon Im going to get out that way to see if his door bell still works or if the old hound can still hunt ;)

   Heres one of the Master showing Ted how to light a smoker while Ted Looks on in awe;

And Ted attempting to block the sun so Iddee cant find the queen..

And, Ted attempting to get us SHOT by kissing the Lady Iddee...

I am SO stuffed full of great food I dont think I need to eat again any time soon...   I THOUGHT I might loose weight down here...   but no...  the food was too good to turn down..

A German friend once told me, "It is soooo easy to be nice to some people". I confirmed that statement again yesterday and today.

Awesome,  always a special time when folks who become friends through a bee forum get to meet.   Who says the internet is a bad thing C:-)

Love the way you coordinated your outfits   (Ted needs to get a WWB shirt!)

AWESOME PICS!

Couple questions though.
I always had it in my mind that Iddee was kinda grumpy, sour lookin, and yet he seems to look almost happy and debonair sorta?
Second, how did he manage to snag such a pretty lady?

It looks like a pen clipped onto the bill of your hat Scott?

Agreed Perry, I can see why Mrs. Iddee got swept off of her feet back in the day. In that pic are two charismatic men, Iddee with the swagger in his stance and Scott with that wink in his eye... makes a girl swoon ....  :D
