Sweet! I'm going to have to get a new bee shirt this year. And after last years mean hive I need to renew my two thin shirts where the elastic around the hem and sleeves is all stretched out. I sure like the looks of your new shirt? What is the name of these suits again?

Those are great presents, Perry and CBT!


My sister gave me this cute mug.  My son sent me a box with different flavors of Japanese teas, from Japan.  I thought they paired well together.



This is applesauce and sour cherries from my neighbor.  She watches my bees pollinate her fruit trees.  My neighbor and her daughter have also helped me harvest honey in past years.  I always give them honey and make fudge for her husband at Christmas.

Nada, zip, zilch.  I asked for homemade gifts this year and my daughter adhered to my wishes (mostly).  Grandson welded a cardinal bird out of stainless steel washers for my garden.  Very modern art"ish" but
I love it because he made the effort.  Ken and I kept it very sparse.....what do we need at this stage in life.
My real present was having family here.  It was so warm out, that we sat around the fire pit at night.

what our spouses don't do for us!

i didn't really have anything on a 'list' for beekeeping this year, except a candle making book, thought maybe after making candles for a few years now, i might learn something from a book.........LOL!!!

i did get this though for my jeep, kinda fun............



and for my other passion in life...........



my only wish is sometimes that i could be home in montana for christmas, to spend time with my mom, (she's 80 and loves christmas, or used to), my grandkids, and my brothers.  my sister is in oregon, or have all of us together sometime, but that is not going to happen.

a number of years ago, i asked my mom to stop buying gifts for us.........i just said 'gift' me something that belonged to you, or my grandmother/grandfather or great grandmother that she wanted to let go of or pass along. wow, some neat stuff i never knew she had and i have and will treasure!

ps les, that cardinal is really cool!

I went to the trouble of taking dried cow piles out of the field and spray painted them gold, wrapped them up and gave them to my brothers a few years back. So far they've not got me anything. :laugh: :laugh: Jack

Perry, seeing your reference to "Mrs. Claus" reminds me that her husband once had a most glorious beard.  Don't you miss it sometimes?

Perry that is one MAGNIFICENT beard!  I can't grow one myself, just a patch here, a little patch there, it tends to simply make my face look dirty.  You truly have a beard to be proud of!

Les, I love the cardinal!  How sweet and it has personality.
My husband and I should be at that stage of life when we should keep things sparse.  Instead of material objects for Christmas, I asked that minor repairs be made around the house.  Electrical outlet repaired, toilet seat fixed and washing machined tweaked were at the top of my list.
On the other hand, I always considered that cooking a complete Christmas meal, without potlucking involved, is one of my gifts to the kids.  The kids are grown with children of their own.  For them, I think being able to go eat a holiday meal and take home leftovers is a treat.

Okay Perry, I concede----I guess I was too focused on counting open cells of brood to see which ones had eggs or young larva and didn't take note of your chin growth.  My real failure was not paying attention to the comments posted by others who did notice the "larvae" growing on your chin.
I trimmed my "whiskers" a bit last week and am feeling the cold on my chin and cheeks.  It usually takes several days for the facial nerves to adjust to the exposure.   ;D (maybe we need a bearded smiley).
