I have been wanting some thing to take to a vintage show that was way easier than tractors.
I load 2 tractors on my equipment trailer but you need to chain them down and set up the ramps and all tat stuff. It got to be such a hassle I stopped taking them to shows and pulls after my dad passed away. We still take them into town 6 miles away as we can just drive them.

But I got the chance to buy this car and jumped on it. It is a Michigan car owned by a lady who rarely drove it in the winter when there was snow and slush on the road. It is a 1985 Buick La Saber Collectors edition the last year of the rear wheel drive La Sabers. Has 87,000 miles (rounded up) on it. Always garage kept, last driven in 2009, Lady's husband passed away so she started driving his FWD 2004 Buick Park Avenue.
It is going to be so nice to climb in this car and turn on the AC and drive to a car show.

Totally stock, even think we will run a vintage plate on it so limited where/when we can use it.

A plush lead sled for sure! I miss those big ol' comfy cars that had plenty of power too.

Those big heavy cars drove and rode so nice. I had a 1974 98 Olds that was loaded, sweet ride.

And just think it had been down sized the year before I believe.
Not all changes have been good I'll say. Has your air bag exploded yet?

Nope, she is in Maine right now!!

I do miss the RIDE those cars had. I don't even think the Nicest of the new cars is as SMOOTH as the big Olds, Chevys, Pontiacs, Fords etc.. My Favorite BIG car was a delta 88 that I bought for my wife.. Then started driving it back and forth to work myself.. Quiet, smooth and comfortable.

Jack, we bought a 1973 Mercury Marquis Brougham new....460 V-8 & 6 mpg!

But it went down the road real good.

My first brand new car after I got out of the service and got a money paying job was a 1969 Mercury marauder X100, 429cid power house was my land yacht. Loved that thing, but a pick up fit my needs better a few years later.
Got the battery out of the Buick yesterday to put on the charger. Well is just a core as I found a crack. New ones are pricy with those silly side terminal thingy's

Got the oil changed yesterday and the new battery installed. Could not resist dumped 2 ounces of gasoline down one of the 4 bbl. trought and it fired right up and ran, a bit rough for about a minutes then smoothed with nary a belt squeak.

I drove it down the road to a parking lot and rode around for about 15 minutes.
Went to the DMV and got a 10 year vintage plate for $30.00.
Kare is taking me back today to pick it up, first thing I do is take it to a car wash.

Vintage..... I had a phone in my shop that has a dial on it.. the kind you stick your finger in and Turn.. I recall my daughter seeing it, and saying.. Dad, why do you use an ANTIQUE phone? Or.. my favorite cars, or hair styles.. Farrah Faucett or Bo Derreck... wait... did Bo Derreck have hair? Anyhow... I had to train myself not to respond to most of the kids "antique" and wow I bet thats really valuable its so OLD comments... Dang I still remember cranking the handle on the party line phone and Gram and Gramps house!!!

Ah, back when cars were made of steel, even the front and rear ends. Somewhere around the year 2001 a lady ran a red light and hit a new Chevy biscayne that I was driving. It was a rental. It totaled the Chevy and it was drug off by a wrecker. The 1977 Caddy was driven off by its owner. It suffered some cosmetic damage to the front of the hood, but was drivable. The bumper remained in tact. Those old cars really were land yachts.

That's a beautiful old car, and as someone pointed out, the seats set it apart from today's stuff.

Watched a bit of the Wood Ward dream cruise last night on TV, interview a guy that makes furniture out of old car seats. Makes reclining chairs out of reclining buckets seats.
Pretty neat the way he did it.
