Blueblood's Sixth and Seventh Swarm of 2017

So, I had 30 minutes before I was to shower and dress for an event with Mrs. Blueblood.  I felt like I needed to check my fifth swarm but also look for others.  Sure enough, two medium swarms.  One was on a young Willow and the other on some briers (My bees changed it up for Wandering Man, Ha!).  I received a text from Mrs. Blueblood that she would leave without me if she needed to,    I shook both of them in a personal record of 8 minutes, showered, dressed and hopped in the car.  Victory!!

Ha! Not sure about either.  But, there is something to be said about what is directly in front of hive entrances.  I have not tall trees or structures with 100 feet of the hives.  Swarms usually form up within 100 feet of their mother hive.

Good Question.  I have been catching an average of 25 per season.  I have just about filled my yard back up minus two from winter losses.  Keeping a handful of nucs for possibly increasing my hive numbers and/or selling.  And, giving away to close friends.  I am sitting on a saved basket from Mannlake.  It is dang expensive to outfit just one hive.  I like to use Ritecell which doesn't help the budget.  But, I love Ritecell.
