So excited.....first time I heard a queen piping! I was digging thru the frames looking for any sign of the newly hatched queen when I heard her. Immediately stopped and closed the hive back up.

I got a shipment of 14 queens yesterday. they were piping in the battery box.

Is it the queen in the cell making the noise? Does anyone know why they do it ?

They can pipe in their cell or when they are out wandering around the frame.
