True story
In about 2007 we landed in Atlanta in an ice storm returning from South Africa ( visiting family)
Ga was essentially shut down, hotels all full , no flights out and stuck.... Called my super duper 800 number on my executive Avis card and got them to bring us a van, and headed north.
Roads were bad but not undrivable. Soon got used to the ice in patches, and as we crossed county lines I guess you could see which counties had ploughed and salted, some had not
Still in ga , but close to SC, I noticed blue lights about a mile behind me, but he did not seem to gained on me, I was doing 55-60 , roads were icy at this time but tracks were relatively clean and just stayed in the ruts ( like a rural gravel road). Slowly over about 30 minutes he finally got closer, and eventually when getting closer, I moved over and he followed me and pulled me over.... We had not seen nor passed another vehicle in this time.
He was of the opinion I was driving dangerously..... My comeback was that I had managed just fine for the last 30 minutes and I had plenty experience in European roads..... He mumbled something and said be safe and left..... He had probably never driven in snow in his life.
Had I known he was chasing me ... I might have just sped up
