Beeswax Deodorant/Antiperspirant
« on: March 18, 2023, 06:27:26 pm »
I'm working on perfecting a homemade deodorant/antiperspirant recipe right now.  I made a batch a few weeks ago, but I didn't like having the deodorant in a jar instead of a stick; it was too messy.  I also wanted it to be a little less creamy and more powdery.  So I bought some empty deodorant tubes from Amazon, and I added more beeswax and more starch to the recipe.  I tried it out today, and I'm pleased so far, although a 40F day isn't much of a test.  :D

Will do.  I'll be doing some actual beekeeping today, so we'll see if it passes test #2.

I have about 6 deodorant tubes you can have.  They were given to me and I pass them on to you if you want.

Thanks, sure I'll take them, provided it's cheap to ship them.  I bought some, and they aren't expensive to buy, so it wouldn't be worth it to ship them if it costs more than a few dollars.  But if you aren't ever going to use them, and don't know anyone closer who would like them, I'll take them off your hands.

You know, something else you can do with deodorant tubes is use them as salve applicators.  I made a stick of vein aid salve for my mom, who had really bad bout of thrombophlebitis lately, and she liked having it in the tube since it was less messy to apply.  Perhaps you could use them for something like that instead of actual deodorant.  If not, feel free to sent 'em my way.  :)
