Sounded like it might be fun until she brought up Jack's name. That spoiled it all. >:(

Yikes, 108 is too hot for me...
I am currently on vacation, we Drove to Maine...  and as we are headed up here toward Blue Hill Maine, I start seeing a LOT of signs, and I have to say, I think PERRY is holding out on us...  he does have bee hives, but I also see, Perrys Furniture, Perrys Lobster Shack, Perrys dine in or drive through, Perrys Fresh Pack Blueberry stand, Perry's Seafood....   there were a couple more as well...  I pulled over so My wife could get my picture by the Perry's Furniture sign, but I got yelled at and had to keep going.....

Well, I am well fed, no sense arguing about that. :D
Still around 195 lbs though. Winter usually sees me up around 205-210, but all the hard work I do come spring sees me shed the weight.
As for furniture, you wouldn't feel safe or comfortable in anything I built, I'm surprised the bees put up with it.

good evening everyone~

it's fall and fall colors have been showing up here in the north..........it's that time of year we have been and are readying our bees for the big W.......... :D
my bees are in great shape (no feeding) except for one hive, out of 4 nucs this was the slow one, but the queen is a good queen.  around mid october i will add shims and place some patties in just for extra insurance through early W months, and keep checking thereafter.  they should be good.  can't budge these hives, a good flow for us this year.  no mites, pests, or disease, and the bees really aggressively go after invaders.......carpenter bees, yellow jackets, moths, etc..

am ambling long after hip surgery, lot of challenges, and slower recovery than i would like, but the good thing is my weight scale is finally telling the truth....... :D :D :D

what is everyone else up to?

You have a weight scale that tells the truth?  I'd like to know the make and model number, since i have never found one that was even CLOSE to accurate!!!!
I finally BROKE the 190 barrier and am at 189.6 and still working at losing weight.
Today i start cutting wood for the winter, so that will help a LOT, been in the field the last couple weeks, crops are coming in swiftly! Bees are doing quite well, but I had three hives this year decide to abscond and leave behind the queen and just a handful of bees..  Quite odd since they were all splits this year and most had newer comb.
On a different note..  My wife has accepted a job in Maine, and will be leaving in a couple weeks, so i will only have you guys to whine and complain to as winter sets in.. She has plans to be gone for at least 5 years, the additional money will be sent back to pay of the principle on the house, so with luck, the bee thing will go well, the grapes will grow well, and i will have an income enough so she can retire when that time is up and return home. Wish us luck!

Six foot two inches tall and 230 pounds of fat man.  I am a large frame guy, and my cardiologist would like for me to weigh 220 pounds or less.  Less would be better.  I topped out at 265 pounds about 10 years ago, since then I have dwindled back to the current weight.  I have reached the slow metabolism age and I can't work as much as in years past, so it is just a mathematical thing where the calorie intake has to be lessened.  Dang that's hard for me to do.

Perry and Scott seem to be in pretty good physical shape.  The emphasis being on the word physical.  :)

Scott, how ofter will you and your bride get to visit?  Retirement is a word that I don't know.  I call it the "R" word.  I would have retired years ago, but I enjoy my work so much that I miss it when not on a job for a bit.  My work does not require much from a physical point of view.

My family is well versed on working away from home.  From 1993 until 2012 I spent about one-half of my time away from home.  Since then it has been about 100 days a year.  In some ways it puts a strain on one's marriage, but my bride was independent enough to take care of her and our home when I was away, and like you we needed the money to pay off the ranch and have the ability to retire.

Scott I do wish you well, and Perry I just want you to keep on being Perry.

Yep, she will be coming home for the holidays, vacations etc, and I will be going out there each spring with bees, and probably mid summer sometime when the bees are settled in from spring fever for my own vacation.
It isnt going to be easy, but when that time is up I look forward to having her full time.
